Apply to become a coach for some of Kallio Rolling Rainbow’s teams. The following positions are available:
- Head Coach for A-team
- 2-3 assistant, bench or player coaches for A-team
- Head Coach for B-team
- 1-2 assistant, bench or player coaches for B-team
- Head Coach for C-team
- 1-2 assistant, bench or player coaches for C-team
Head coaches look at the teams’ overall performance and together with the rest of the leadership plan things for the team to practice and make decisions on strategy and rosters.
Bench coaches communicate to the track during games (often also the team’s A). A bench coach can also apply for only the WFTDA or only the SM-league charter coaching position.
Player coaches focus on developing the players’ individual skills and abilities regarding e.g. conditioning training and skating technique. Assistant coaches help the team out e.g. in the above areas or some other way. The tasks and responsibilities can be combined with each role according to the applicants’ expertise and interests.
The coaching season for the teams follows the SM-league and Division 1 season, and during the upcoming season the A-team coaching may also focus on preparing for European WFTDA-league games. The coach’s responsibilities will be tailored to the strengths of the selected individual, and the most important aspect is to find someone who can commit to developing with the team throughout the entire season. If you have even the slightest interest in coaching, assistant coaching, bench coaching, or player coaching, please submit an application. Our teams are happy to discuss with everyone that have applied in order to find the most functional role for the coach within the community. Submitting an application does not commit you to anything.
If you are selected as part of a team’s coaching staff and you are not yet a member of KRR, you are required to join the league after your selection. Membership fee for everyone is 20 €/calendar year, and training fee for coaches is 40 €/calendar year (total 60 €/calendar year). The membership makes the coach eligible to participate in league decision making.
Kallio Rolling Rainbow’s A-team, All Colours, competes in the Finnish Championship Series and international games. During the upcoming season, the A-team will be split into two charters: one focusing on the SM-league and one on international games. The SM-league charter travels within Finland during the season, and the WFTDA charter travels abroad 2-3 times.
Kallio Rolling Rainbow’s B-team, Kinapori Fistfunkers, will most likely register to play in the SM-league Division 1. The team travels mainly within Finland during the season, possibly also in northern Finland. The B-team’s goal is to travel abroad at least once per season, as there are not enough WFTDA-ranking opponents at this level within Finland.
Kallio Rolling Rainbow’s C-team, Piritorin Ässät, is intended for newer players and those who want to play friendly matches against other leagues. The team travels mainly within Finland and nearby locations around Helsinki. The C-team is looking for a coach who can help the team develop their game.
