Accessibility in the tournament

Parking and commuting

The tournament venue (Pasila UH, Radiokatu 22) has paid parking, with one free-of-cost spot reserved for cars with a disabled parking permit.

The nearest bus and tram stops are a 2 minutes walk from the venue.

Entrance

The most accessible entrance to the event is through the entrance at street level and by elevator to the second floor. When the door is locked, please ring the on-call number at the door: the staff will open the door and assist with the lift.

At street level, there is a curb, followed by a small threshold at the entrance, there are thresholds in the fire doors, and the hall doors are not automatic. Elevator doors require pushing/pulling.

Visitors who don’t need the elevator are asked to enter through the main / 2nd floor entrance, located behind a concrete staircase.

Accessibility at the venue

On the main floor (2nd floor of the building) you can find ticket sales, an accessible bathroom, merch tables, and the audience stand for spectators. The audience stand is on a loft behind non automated and heavy doors. Staff will be present to assist through the entrance.

The loft has one row of seats on the floor level and adequate space on the floor level. The raised seats further behind are only accessible by stairs. A part of the floor level will be designated as wheelchair priority. The loft has transparent glass and steel railing.

Sound environment

The venue is lacking a built-in hearing aid system (induction loop system or similar). Announcing will mostly be in Finnish, and amplified by a soundsystem.

Sounds of gameplay travel far and echo in the sports hall which can cause challenges to people hard of hearing.

Having ear protection at hand is advised especially for anyone highly sensitive to sounds.

Staff premises

Volunteer staff, officiators, and skaters can access the bottom floor of the building through the staircase or by elevator. Visitors are not permitted on the bottom floor.
