Come try out skating at Kallio Rolling Rainbow’s Open Skate and start the roller derby beginner’s course!
Open Skate events are held usually 3 times a year at Pasila Sports Hall. We provide equipment for participants, but as the number of participants may be high, we’ll try out equipment in two separate sessions. However, be prepared to be at the event the entire time, as we’ll share important information with those not skating.
Kallio Rolling Rainbow’s free Open Skate trial allows you to easily experience roller derby skating. This training session isn’t yet full-fledged roller derby but is a lighter version of the early sessions of the beginner’s course. We offer skates, protective gear, helmets, and guidance! You can also bring your own gear, such as your helmet.
Sportswear or otherwise flexible clothing may be the most comfortable, but the event is relaxed, so you’ll manage otherwise too. We hope participants will register before the Open Skate event so we can ensure suitable loan gear for everyone and stay aware of the number of participants. The age limit for the Open Skate event and beginner’s course is 16 years.
